Due to the worsening road conditions, we are asking that you do your best to pick up your children early today. Also, we have decided to CLOSE on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH. Due to the overnight forecast and the fact that many of our staff drive from out of town, we feel like this is the safest option. Stay safe and warm and we will see you on Monday.

ABC Grow and Learn Children's Center is seeking qualified individuals to be teacher's aides! We are a STAR-rated program with high standards for childcare. Candidates may work in multiple classrooms, with children of all ages, from infant to preschool age.

We welcome applicants with all levels of experience- we can teach you how to excel when working with children, but a positive attitude must be provided by you!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

· Keeping kids safe, healthy, fed, clean, and cared for
· Interacting with children in a positive manner
· Communicating with families in a positive and professional manner
· Light to moderate cleaning
· Entering child information into our Daily Connect app
· Adhering to all Michigan Licensing requirements

Qualifications

Required

· High school diploma or equivalent [Must be 18+]
· Weekday availability, preferably with open availability between 6:45a and 6:30p
· Ability to lift children (up to 30 pounds) on a frequent basis
· Ability to be on your feet and moving (bending, stooping, walking, and/or carrying) most of the day
· Regular attendance
· Maintaining a professional appearance
· Effective and appropriate communication skills
· Basic reading skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to pass a background check [Must not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor]

Preferred Qualifications (not required)

· Prior childcare experience
· Desire to obtain a CDA credential or degree in Early Childhood Education

We had a visit from our friends at the Adrian Fire Department today! They were nice enough to show us their gear, their awesome trucks, and speak with us a bit about fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire! It was a great visit, and the kids really loved it!

Picture day was a success! Our kids did so well and our pictures turned out pretty great! Just a reminder that orders are due in to the office by October 16th if you would like to order through us, or you can order online! Please see the office if you have any questions!

Good morning Families! We're really getting into the school year and fall season so we figured, why not utilize some fall type foods and learn something new! This activity uses dried rice as their sensory material, but dried corn or beans, both in season now, would work as well.
