Madison Middle School serves grades 6-8 in the Madison School District in Adrian, Michigan. Brad Anschuetz, Principal Mindy Jordan, Asst. Principal

Madison School District was recently notified by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) that Madison Middle School is recognized as one of only two National Title I Distinguished Schools located in Michigan. A portion of the award notification states, “Because only two schools per state can be selected as a National Title I Distinguished School each year, this award is an especially prestigious honor for your school, staff, and students.” This honor is based on statistical data compiled from the 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years which indicate Madison Middle School students are in the top 10% statewide for academic achievement. Madison Middle School is the best in Michigan, insuring that all students are achieving, or what the State calls “closing the achievement gap.” Whether a child is gifted or requires targeted intervention the data indicates that no school in Michigan better serves the diverse needs of students. Congratulations to our middle school students, parents, staff, and administration for this exceptional accomplishment!

Good Morning, Madison Families!

We are extremely excited to share that we are ahead of schedule with our technology device distribution. As a result, we would like to hold our pick up for families that needed an additional technology device tomorrow Wednesday, April 22, 2020 from 9:30-1:30. Please, enter through the High School doors to pick up your device. If you are not able to make it tomorrow, but still need a device please email [email protected] to set up a time to come in and pick up the device.

The Madison Online Learning Hub is now LIVE on the district website! Lessons and activities for students are available for the week of April 20. There will be new lessons added each week!

http://www.madisonk12.us/madison-learning-hub/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.page&utm_campaign=postfity&utm_content=postfity765f1

Families in need of Technology help will have their first opportunity to pick up devices on this coming Monday, April 20th! See the message from Superintendent Nick Steinmetz attached!

[04/15/20]   Point of clarification for those without internet access who have requested paper copies. The location for picking up the requested paper packet of the weekly assignments will be the Elementary Cafe. Hours will coincide with the weekly food pick-up times, Monday’s, 10:30 - 12:30pm. Families will be able to pick up food if needed and then circle through the Elementary to the outside cafe entrance door and a school employee will assist you with collecting the correct packet for your child.

Contact [email protected] if you are in need of paper copies.

We are aware that many students still have their textbooks stored in their locker. Knowing this, all lessons will be written such that students will not need their textbooks.

An important message from Superintendent Nick Steinmetz has been posted to the Madison website:

Good Afternoon, Madison Families!

I am sure that you have heard by now that Governor Whitmer has closed K-12 schools for the remainder of the year. As a component of that, schools are tasked with providing distance learning opportunities for our students. The district technology survey, which was sent out earlier this week, was a component of our transition process to distance learning. Additionally, the administrative team has been working on our distance learning framework over the past week, and we are in the final stages of completing it. Once that is finished teachers will begin to add content for students to access.

Multiple components of our distance learning model will be addressed with future communications (internet connectivity, devices, etc.). Also, there are many questions that families are left with: What about Prom? Will there be a graduation ceremony? Please, know that these issues will all be addressed as our learning model rolls out.

I appreciate your understanding! Go Trojans!

Nick Steinmetz, Superintendent

District Technology Survey

Good Morning, Madison Families.

As the mandatory closure of schools continue, we are starting to recieve more guidance from the State on proper methods to deliver instruction to our students during this time. Please, take a moment to complete the technology survey below as we assess the best ways to reach all of our students.

https://forms.gle/8RRgtYmF2F5UsuGb6

If you do not have access to high speed internet and need it at this time for any essential task (college course work, unemployment application, etc.) please know that our guest wifi is open at the school and does not require a password at this time. The wifi signal reaches our parking areas in the front of the school and near the high school. If you do need internet access, please feel free to use while sitting in your car. All we ask is that you practice safe social distancing while doing so.

Thank you for your time in filling out the survey.

Go Trojans!

Nick Steinmetz, Superintendent

docs.google.com As we gear up for likely remote educational offerings please take the time to complete this survey to let us know the type of access your family has at home. Thank you!
