Below, you will find two adjustments that are being made to our District Calendar:
Monday, April 8, 2024: Out of an abundance of caution, the Madison School District will be moving to a half day (MS/HS dismissal at 11:00 am and Elementary dismissal at 12:00 pm). The solar eclipse is set to occur during our middle/high school bus routes. Therefore, I would like all students/staff to have the opportunity to be home when the eclipse occurs. As a district, we have purchased eclipse glasses for every student to be sent home with them on that day.
Friday, May 24, 2024: The Madison School District will be moving to a half day of instruction for students (MS/HS dismissal at 11:00 am and Elementary dismissal at 12:00 pm) and afternoon Professional Development for staff (this is Memorial Day weekend).
These changes will not impact our scheduled days/clock hours. They will not cause us to have to add any days of instruction to the end of the year.
I appreciate your flexibility with these calendar changes.
Educationally Yours,
Nick Steinmetz
Superintendent

Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade choir. They received a division 1 rating at District Festival, which gives them an invitation to the State Festival.
If you follow LHS, Bella had a post yesterday afternoon, and then we were lucky enough to spend most of our time with her last night. She is seriously the sweetest girl. Laid back, loves butt scratches, amazing on leash - she doesn't pull, and when a squirrel ran out in front of us, her ears perked up, but she still didn't pull or attempt to chase. There were even ducks at Burr pond, but she paid no mind. The kennel stress is really taking a toll on her, and she's been there since January. She really needs to find her forever family, ASAP! Her adoption fee is reduced to help make this happen. As you will see from her bio, she would make a great addition to a family with a "calmer" home. Please consider to foster/adopt or share to spread the word 💕🐾💕
LHS Bio: "LHS has been letting Bella hang out in the office during the day since the shelter environment is too loud and stressful for her. She has enjoyed sharing lunch with staff but more importantly has enjoyed the quiet and has gotten some much needed naps in!😴
Bella gets along with dogs, walks great on leash, and really just wants a quiet and comfy home to live in. She is 6 years old, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines! Her adoption fee is only $50 so if you’re interested in this good girl, sign up to foster or adopt at lenhumanesoc.org
Save the Date! The MYAC Golf Outing will be held on July 27th. More information to come!
