I started playing guitar when I was 12 years old, a couple months later I bought this album, and it blew my mind. At the time, I thought maybe I should quit playing guitar now! Thankfully I didn't quit, but rather was incredibly inspired by the genius that Eddie Van Halen was. It wasn't just his incredible solos, it was the whole package; his song writing and rhythm guitar playing were equally amazing. I was fortune enough to see him live in 1984 with David Lee Roth, and a couple times with Sammy Hagar. He literally changed the sound of rock and roll guitar. And is equal with Jimi Hendrix in influence on music. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

In the 90's I played in the band Restroom Poets. We played in Ann Arbor and Detroit, and had some great times. This album, recorded in 1997, was never officially released, until now. I'm really happy to see it out there now. Check it out!

Brad Skinner Guitar Instruction updated their business hours.

The office will be closed to face-to-face lessons as of Tuesday March 24th. This is in compliance with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's stay-at-home order and closure of non-essential businesses. I am offing video lessons, using Zoom, for those who would like them. Stay well and keep making music!

Hi Everyone! Starting Monday, March 23rd I will be offering live video lessons using Zoom. If you're a current student who is interested in this, please PM (or text) me your email and I will send you the streaming information. I will continue to keep the office open, for healthy students, as long as I am able. Stay well everyone, and keep making music!

I will remain open during the Coronavirus epidemic. Should anything change I will contact students directly and update via Facebook. If you are feeling ill or present a fever, please do not come in for guitar lessons. If I feel ill or present symptoms I assure you I will cancel lessons. Hand sanitizer is available in the office and I have taken steps to sanitize frequently touched surfaces in the office.
