Good Evening,
I just wanted to inform you all that we have won several awards for this past 2019-2020 academic year.
Student Organization of the Year: UMGC Chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS)
Student Organization Advisor Award: Shelley Hintz, UMGC Chapter of NSCS
Student Organization Leader Award: Adam Arruda, President, UMGC Chapter of NSCS
This was due to a lot of hard work, strategizing, and working on member engagement through leadership and perseverance from the whole officer team.
We are working with the new officer board who will be introduced shortly on how we can make 2020-2021 even better.

NSCS,
I just wanted to give you all an update. With all this COVID-19 craziness going on in the world we are all busy and doing what we can to fight this. For me personally, I'm considered mission essential and have been working more than ever so it has been tough to keep up with my volunteer tasks.
However, our officers, and chapter operations manager had a meeting about a week or 2 ago discussing the future of our chapter and feedback we have received over the past year.
We are pretty much slowing things down for the time being to remodel our approach to chapter activities for the upcoming school year so there may be a lapse in activity for the next couple months.
Chapter Elections are currently underway and I got word today that we have several applicants for the officer board. However, the application deadline is not until 31 March so keep sending them our way if you are interested.
I will be working with our new officer board for the next few months once elected to ensure a smooth transition. Please reach out with any questions you may have.
