Agriculture in the Classroom is a national program focused on increasing agricultural literacy through K-12 education.

It is sponsored in Dallas County by Dallas County Farm Bureau. The mission of Agriculture in the Classroom is to increase agricultural literacy through K-12 education. Through creative lessons, hands-on projects, and programs that use technology, students can learn about agriculture's role in Iowa's history, where our food comes from, conservation, and how technology continues to impact agricultur

Van Meter first grade class visits. Farmer Bobbie and I visited 4 classrooms and determined if chicks were hens or roosters. There are 7 roosters and 12 hens.

It was fun to join the Waukee Innovation and Learning Center students and first graders from Grant Ragan Elementary School to see how much they know about chicks and the chick life cycle.
