Cook High School FBLA

Each month we are looking to award an FBLA member of the month. This is someone who has worked hard, stepped up to the plate, participated, encouraged others, and represented FBLA in a positive way. For September, our member of the month is Payton Furman. She earned 60 points for Member of the Month through August. Way to go, Payton.

First FBLA meeting and 9th orientation. Join FBLA to become part of the best CTSO!!

For October, earn service hours by donating bags of candy for our trunk-or-treat and Fall Frolic. We need to start collecting candy now.

Administrators have a tough job! Let’s not only earn service hours, but let’s show our respect and support and write thank you letters to any administrator(s) at our Cook County schools.

Right now we have a tie between Payton and Laiba for top recruiter. Get your friends to join and write your name as the one who convinced them to be part of FBLA. 🥳👏

Great RUSH week! We have 28 members already!! That’s an awesome start to an awesome group of FBLA members. Join Monday and get a special gift leftover from RUSH week. Don’t worry, the “leftovers” are still just as cute as the original gifts. Have a great weekend.

Members who want to attend Perry Fair need to sign up and pay $50 by September 9. This includes the club designed t-shirt.

Be on the lookout for these cards. New members may be asking for donations to help them with competitions and travel this year with FBLA. You can write a check to FBLA for a specific student and send it to Mrs. Carter if you prefer not to give the student a cash/check. Thank you for your support!!

First meeting is an open meeting on August 12 during advisement. However, you MUST sign up by August 9 at 3 pm to attend. Sign up by clicking the QR code and complete the form. We can’t wait to see you there and share what FBLA has to offer.

Service Activity for August.

We want you to join FBLA! We have lots of fun activities planned for this year.

Our officers are excited for the 2024-25 school year. Join FBLA to become part of the team. Dues $20.

Thanks to Eli who talked me into it, we ended the day at the Waffle House for supper. SLOTS was awesome this year! I look forward to working with this group of young people. If you want to be a part of something great, join FBLA at Cook High this year.

Hanoi Tower game at SLOTS. Much harder than it looks!! Move the pile to the opposite side by moving one piece at a time, not putting a larger piece on top of a smaller piece, and not talking to your team. Great way to enforce critical thinking and patience. Eli’s group won. Notice Josue’s group was deep in thought.

Connect Game at SLOTS. Eli was the only one to view the finished product. He had to relay to Josue what to build. Josue had to collect pieces and direct the table what to build without hand motions. Great game to enforce communication, observation, and listening.

Hamburger Game at SLOTS. Stack em’ and one person closes their eyes as they are guided through the obstacles. Great way to enforce teamwork, trust, and communication.

Successful day at SLOTS Thursday! Students networked and learned how to be awesome Cook High FBLA leaders.
