This week our students prepared a cucumber salad. Our ingredients consisted of English cucumber, red onion, fresh dill, fresh squeezed lemon, chopped garlic, sour cream, and mayo. We discussed how and why it is important to wash not only your hands, but also your vegetables. Each student participated in the preparation by taking turns adding ingredients to our salad. Once all ingredients were in a bowl we gave it a big stir and enjoyed!! 🥒 🧅 🍋 🧄

Keshawn goals are to try out for GSU football team and to one day become an athlete trainer. I enjoyed attending the 2024 Governor’s Summit on Early Language And Literacy at Georgia College and State University on last week. Collaborating with different community partners, sharing with other communities all of the hard work that is being done in Cook County and continuing the legacy of Mrs. Sandra Deal has been such a joy. The keynote speakers, the panelists, & spotlight speakers reiterated as educators it’s very important that we give our students the tools they need to succeed, Parents are children’s first most important teachers, Ensure our students reach their full potential, It all start from birth and we all play a big role in that and Language and literacy matters. Just to name a few. It was a pleasure to meet Former Governor Deal again and we received a signed copy of his book Veto The Governor’s Cat and it was also a pleasure meeting Malcolm Mitchell and receiving a signed copy of his book A Magnificent Field Trip to the Governor’s Mansion. Malcolm Mitchell is a phenomenal person and he shared how literacy impacted his life. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
