2024 Cook High Honors Day - Livestream

CHS Juniors Ricardo Corona & Andy Hernandez had the opportunity to job shadow Graham Nguyen of Valdosta State’s Digital Media Services. They spent the day learning what working in a fast-paced and creatively challenging atmosphere is like in the video production industry. Graham challenged them to film an IG reel similar to recent posts from the university’s social media pages. You can view their work on the social channels.

Today, Cook High was awarded 1st Runner Up in the state for Best Picture to our friends from Chattahoochee High School. 🌅

Caleb Corbett, Jayley Moore, Ricardo Corona, Brody Scrivens, Katie Briones, Chris Lee and Cole Tessier all played an important role in the creation of this film. We’re very lucky to have a group of kids as talented as they are.

I told them I was so proud of them, they could take the entire week off next week!!

Hampton is a Junior at CHS and has volunteered to film mutiple wrestling events and practices this semester with our equipment. 🎥

South Georgia Film Festival received over 600 submissions this year and “Midnight Snack” was one of the ten films selected for the High School Category. 🏆

It will be screened at on March 2nd at 10:30 AM in the Student Union. 🔥

On the second day of , we were able to celebrate the accomplishments of Jayley Moore, Megan Lawrence, Jenaya Tucker, & Caleb Corbett on their work of their short film, Midnight Snack. As recognition for exemplary work, Thespian Conference included their film along with 15 others from Georgia in their annual Film Festival. 🎬

While responding to questions from the audience, Jayley was able to point towards her technical skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and explain how she managed to duplicate Megan in the film. 👯

Working, completing, and competing with projects like Midnight Snack help us build a Career-forward Georgia👩‍💻

Happy CTAE month! We are thankful for the students that spend their time developing skills for their future and Cook County Schools for creating this opportunity for them

We would like to wish huge congratulations to Jayley Moore for being selected to showcase her short film, Midnight Snack, at Georgia Thespian Conference! 🎞️

Jayley is one of 16 students representing the state of Georgia, and the first from CHS to be selected for the sixth annual Georgia Thespian Film Festival. Her film will be shown at Conference, followed by a talk back session with each of the winners discussing their creative process. 🗣️

Shoutout to our school system for outfitting a lab with 28 computers capable of running our editing software. We are truly blessed! 💻
