Please join us in congratulating September's ASD4 Difference Maker, Ruby Medina!
Ruby Medina, Paraprofessional at Lake Park Elementary School, was nominated by Principal Villalobos and she stated the following:
"I am honored to nominate Ruby Medina for the District Difference Maker Award. Ruby is one of our resource paraprofessionals who exemplifies dedication, positivity, and an unwavering commitment to students each and every day. Ruby serves as a 1:1 paraprofessional, providing consistent and compassionate support to her assigned student. Beyond this responsibility, she regularly steps into other classrooms to assist students and staff whenever needed. She does so with a smile and a willingness that reflects her deep care for our school community. Ruby builds strong, meaningful relationships with students. She takes the time to learn about their interests, celebrate their strengths, and provide encouragement when challenges arise. Students genuinely gravitate toward her, and she is widely respected and appreciated throughout the building. Her flexibility is another defining strength. When adjustments to schedules or assignments are necessary, Ruby responds with professionalism and a positive attitude. She approaches every situation with a solution-oriented mindset and never hesitates to step in where support is needed. Classroom teachers value her presence, and her fellow paraprofessionals view her as a leader and role model. In addition to her daily responsibilities, Ruby supports our school after hours by assisting with bus supervision. She helps ensure that our after-school care students are safely dismissed and that transitions at the end of the day run smoothly. Ruby consistently goes above and beyond her role. Her positivity, reliability, and genuine care for students truly make a difference in the lives of those she serves. She is an outstanding representative of our district and highly deserving of this recognition."
