Our Doors are OPEN Next Saturday!

Lockport High School stopped by to prepare for the Masonry Skills USA Challenge.

These high schoolers are delving into the world of masonry with both hands to see if this is their path forward.

They will be competing with other high school students to see who’s able to build the nicest brick façade on their construction project.

Most years, we make the trip out to Lockport to visit them in their shop. This time, we flipped the script and opened up our lab, turned them loose, and let them get after it on our turf.

At Illinois Valley Community College today, the BAC ADC 1 of IL DCTC is laying foundations, stacking opportunities, and building smiles. 🧱💪

Quality Assurance and Quality Control for Masonry Assemblies Seminar for BAC members and Signatory Contractors.

This program will feature lessons learned through a series of case studies, focusing on key topics such as workmanship, performance, risk mitigation, call-backs, construction practices, trade coordination, sequencing, and strategies for optimizing cost and schedule.

Today the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers District Council Training Center is out by Dixon at Sauk Valley Community College for the 2025 Pathway Playground Career Fair!

Students from Amboy, Ohio, Challand (Sterling), Oregon, Rock Falls, Forreston, St. Mary’s Dixon, Reagan Middle School (Dixon), Fulton, Rochelle, Montmorency (Rock Falls), East Coloma (Rock Falls), Center 4 Change (Rock Falls), Ashton-Franklin Center, Eastland, Byron, Morrison, St. Mary’s Sterling, and Milledgeville will all be stopping by!

We’re excited to showcase the pathways to the BAC trowel trades, and lifelong opportunities available through union masonry. From bricklaying and stone setting to tile, terrazzo, precast, and restoration work, students are learning what it means to build a future with the BAC.

Building Tomorrow Together = Collaboration in Action!

As recruitment season kicks into high gear, we teamed up with the Masonry Advisory Council at Harper College to showcase the strength, skill, and opportunity behind a career in the BAC crafts.

Together, we’re inspiring the next generation of union tradespeople.

Bricklayers District Council Training Center (DCTC) accepts year-round applications for its Apprenticeship Training Program 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, at DCTC, 2140 Corporate Dr., Addison, IL.

Bricklayers install brick, stone, tile, marble, etc., by constructing or repairing walls, partitions, fireplaces, sewers and various structures.
