Last but not least, Aanya is heading to Northwestern University to study Biological Sciences!
Aanya has attended Westwood for 11 years. She was a member of our Cheer team (Captain, 12), Baking Club, Crochet Club, and Yearbook Club. She also co-founded the Service Club and Book Club. Aanya also led as Grade Representative (9, 11), Financial Committee Head (10, 11) and Tor House Prefect (12).
As a member of our TAPPS 1A Academic team, Aanya placed 1st in the state in Persuasive Speaking (2025), 2nd in Debate (2025), 2nd in Literary Criticism (2025), 2nd in Spelling (2023), 3rd in Duet Acting (2023, 2025), 4th in Original Oratory (2024), and 5th in Solo Acting. She also received the TAPPS Virginia Wirth Distinguished Speaker Award for being the top Speech competitor across all divisions in 2025. On the National Spanish Exam, she earned a gold medal (2023, 2026) and silver medal (2024, 2025) for placing in the top percentiles of students across the nation. Aanya also earned Westwood’s Math Student of the Year (2024), Chemistry Student of the Year (2025), and History Student of the Year (2026) for her hard work in the classroom.
This year, Aanya received Westwood’s Diploma Programme Scholar award, which is given to a student who has consistently delivered outstanding work during their two years in the IB DP. Aanya has clearly sought to improve the academic standards not only for herself, but also for her peers by modeling excellence. Even outside of academics, Aanya is always trying to figure out how we can raise the bar for Westwood, and her hard work and dedication makes her an inspiring example for our community.

Cate is heading to UT Austin to study Environmental Engineering with minors in Philosophy and Business!
In her 4 years at Westwood, Cate played Volleyball and ran Track & Field. She was also a member of the Quiz Bowl team and the Climbing, Crochet, Baking, Yearbook, Service, and Book clubs, and was the founder of the STEM club.
In 10th & 11th grade, Cate led as Titus House Prefect and in 12th grade, she served as Grade Representative. She was named Westwood’s Math Student of the Year (2023), Civics & Economics Student of the Year (2024), Engineering Student of the Year (2024), Environmental Systems & Societies Student of the Year (2025), Math Student of the Year (2026), and Physics Student of the Year (2026) for her hard work in the classroom. In 10th grade, she earned a Bronze Medal on the National Spanish Exam for placing in the top 25% of students nationwide.
This year, Cate was the recipient of the Wildcat award. The Wildcat award is given to a student who shows a lot of growth in character, participation in community, and dedication to excellence throughout their time at Westwood. Cate fits all these categories, but she also breaks the rubric. Cate has the unique ability to make her peers and her teachers better just by being in her presence, and her contribution to the Westwood community is beyond measure.

Savera is heading to Penn State to study Criminology!
In her 5 years at Westwood, Savera was a member of our Cheer, Track & Field, Cross Country, and Tennis teams. As a member of our Varsity Volleyball team, she led as captain in her 11th and 12th grade years and earned TAPPS 1A Honorable Mention (2023), TAPPS 1A 2nd Team All-District (2024, 2025), TAPPS 1A 1st Team All-District (2026), and Westwood’s MVP (2026). She was also named Track Most Improved Player in 10th and 11th grade.
This year, Savera led as Triton House Prefect (go Triton!) and was named Westwood’s Spanish Student of the Year for her hard work in the classroom.

Reeyan is heading to Baylor University to study Neuroscience!
Reeyan began at Westwood in pre-K and has attended for 15 years. Reeyan was a 6-year member of Westwood’s basketball team and led as captain during his 12th grade year. This year, he was named TAPPS 1A First Team All District and earned Westwood MVP for his hard work and leadership on the court.
As a member of Westwood’s TAPPS Art & Academic team, Reeyan placed 3rd in the state in Fashion Design/Textiles (2024) and 7th place in LD Debate (2025). Outside of school, Reeyan has been a Boy Scout for 4 years and this year, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, a prestigious honor only achieved by 4% of scouts.

Finneus is heading to Eckerd College to study Marine Biology and Environmental Studies!
Finn has attended Westwood for 12 years. He served as Grade Representative in 9th grade and Titus House Prefect in 12th grade. He was a member of our Track & Field team, earning MVP in his senior year. Outside of school, he is a 3-time national qualifier on his club volleyball team.
Finn received Westwood’s Math Student of the Year (2023), Environmental Systems & Societies Student of the Year (2026), and Art Student of the Year (2025, 2026) for his hard work in the classroom. As a member of our TAPPS 1A Art team, he placed 8th in the state in Seek and Sketch Black & White (2024) and 6th in Seek & Sketch Color (2026).

Kere is heading to Howard University to study Finance & Political Science on a Pre-Law track!
In her 5 years at Westwood, Kere has been a member of our Cheer squad as a mascot and emcee, earning this year’s MVP. She also was a member of our Quiz Bowl team, Service Club, and Book Club. In 10th and 11th grade, Kere led as Triton House Prefect (go Triton!).
On our TAPPS 1A Art & Academic Team, Kere placed 5th in the state in Literary Criticism (2023), 8th in Spelling (2024), 5th in Relief (2024), 8th in Original Oratory (2025), 4th in Literary Criticism (2025), 6th in Current Events (2025), and 5th in Spelling (2025). This year, Kere earned Westwood’s Literature Student of the Year award for her hard work in the classroom.
Outside of school, Kere is an Irving Public Library Young Adult Action Council member.

Zara is heading to the University of Pittsburgh to study Marketing!
Zara has attended Westwood since 1st grade. She has been a member of our Cheer (Captain, 12), Track & Field (Captain, 11-12), Cross Country, Volleyball, and Tennis teams, earning Volleyball Most Improved Player (2024), Track & Field MVP (2024, 2026), and TAPPS 2nd Team All-District Volleyball (2026).
Zara led as Co-President of the Baking Club (11-12), Assistant Head of Community Committee (10, 12), and was a member of our Model UN Club. She also earned Westwood’s Math Student of the Year (2025) and Theatre Student of the Year (2026) for her hard work in the classroom.
