The Westwood School A Montessori and IB school serving students ages 12 months - 12th grade.

In 1986, The Westwood School was founded to address a real need for change in education by developing character, fostering community, and promoting academic excellence. For almost 30 years, The Westwood School has continued to grow offering Montessori education starting at 2 years-old. Westwood blends the highly regarded method with the International Baccalaureate, an ideal overlay to the foundation laid by the Montessori method. IB World Schools share a common philosophy–a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that The Westwood School believes is important for our students. In 2004, Westwood became an authorized IB World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme (grades 11-12).

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Maria Montessori! Her educational philosophy and belief in the potential in every child guides everything we do, and we are so grateful that she paved the way for Westwood students to discover the joy in learning.

Thank you, Dr. Montessori!

Our Westwood faculty and staff spent part of their back-to-school inservice giving back! We visited Feed My Starving Children to help pack food boxes for children in need. Together, we packed 136 boxes of food which equals 29,376 meals. What an important reminder about the power of coming together to make a difference before we kick off the new school year!
