SpongeBob on Trial!

Our 6th-grade students stepped into the courtroom as prosecutors and defense attorneys to determine whether SpongeBob was guilty or innocent in the murder of Mr. Eugene Crabs!

Using text evidence and A.E.C./R.A.C.E. strategies, students built their cases and presented their arguments to the jury. The prosecution made a strong case, but after hearing the evidence, the jury found SpongeBob NOT GUILTY!

Great job, 6th-grade Tigers, for bringing ELA skills to life!

Greetings Tiger Family!

Please join us for our Educational Opportunities Information Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6:00 PM. This meeting will be held at Minor High School in the auditorium.

You will learn more about student transfer options, virtual school offerings, signature academies, magnet programs, and so many other available opportunities that our students have access to through the district! We look forward to you coming out to join us to stay informed about what we have to offer students in Jefferson County Schools.

A SEASON TO CELEBRATE!

Congratulations to our Minor Middle Lady Tigers Volleyball Team on a successful season! We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, teamwork, and Tiger pride our athletes displayed throughout the season.

A special thank you to Coach Sigler and Coach Yari for your continued dedication, encouragement, and support of our volleyball program. Your commitment to our student-athletes extends far beyond the court!

We also thank you for planning a beautiful 8th Grade Night to celebrate our 8th-grade players as they closed out their final volleyball season as middle school students. What a special way to honor their hard work, memories, and accomplishments before they take their next step toward high school!

Minor Middle H.O.P.E. Team | ALL IN

Our Minor Middle H.O.P.E. Team recently stepped into professional learning with one goal in mind; becoming even more intentional about how we serve our students, support one another, and strengthen our school community.

Through the ALL IN experience, our faculty and administrators explored the power of connection, communication, shared identity, intentional encouragement, and living out our core values.

The experience served as a powerful reminder that building a positive school culture begins within each of us. When we are intentional, connected, and committed, we create an environment where both students and staff know they are valued, supported, and needed.

🎲 Rolling Into Reading!

After spending the week reading Frank Stockton’s classic short story “The Lady, or the Tiger?”, students in Ms. Halterman’s 6th Grade ELA class put a fun spin on literary review!

Students rolled dice featuring literature based questions that sparked discussion, encouraged critical thinking, and helped them review the text in an engaging, hands-on way. This kinesthetic activity gave students an opportunity to talk about their reading, share their thinking, and strengthen their understanding of the story, all while having a little fun!

From Suspension to SOLUTIONS!

During our recent PREP staff meeting, Coach Belyeu introduced faculty to the updated procedures for In-School Solutions, his intentional rebranding of the traditional In-School Suspension program.

In addition to reviewing the process for submitting student assignments and keeping students academically engaged, Coach Belyeu shared his vision for making the experience about more than simply serving a consequence.

Through In-School Solutions, students will have opportunities to reflect on their choices, consider what they could have done differently, and identify better ways to respond in the future.

Accountability. Reflection. Growth. Better choices.

We appreciate Coach Belyeu for taking a solution-focused approach and helping our Tigers learn, grow, stay motivated, and stay the course!

Help Us Give Minor Middle a Little Extra TLC!

We’re calling on our Minor Middle families, staff, and community to join us for our Campus Clean-Up on Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Can’t stay and help clean? You can still support the effort! We gladly welcome donations of bottled water, Gatorade, individually packaged snacks, or additional cleaning supplies for our volunteers.

Whether you give your time, supplies, or refreshments, every contribution helps us show some love to our campus!
