AHS students Alena Reid and Maddie Surratt started their summer by attending Tennessee's Girls State conference. This is a highly competitive recognition and attendees learn about civic leadership and how to engage in the community. Congratulations!

The following message from ACT applies to students who took the ACT in Spring 2026:

Good news! Your scores from the Spring 2026 school-day ACT online test are available in MyACT.

As you may be aware, ACT had previously removed scores from online testing this spring in MyACT. After a rescoring process to ensure all scores are fair and reliable, your Composite score and section scores have either stayed the same or have slightly increased based on your individual performance. Your scores are not lower than what was previously available in your MyACT account.

We have shared reissued scores with your school. In addition, if you had ACT share your results with colleges or scholarship agencies, ACT is providing revised scores to each organization you identified. If you sent your scores outside of the ACT process, you should resend your updated scores (if affected) so that those institutions have the most up-to-date information.

If you have questions, please submit an online inquiry form.

As of 1:15, the hourly forecast calls for a 56% chance of thunderstorms at 7:00. With that thought in mind AHS will err on the side of caution and hold their graduation ceremony at the Ag Event Center tonight at 7:00. The doors will open at 5:00.

AHS Seniors and Senior Families:

We are all looking forward to celebrating our graduates on Thursday night. However, if you have checked the weather forecast, we still have a chance of rain tomorrow night. With that in mind, I want to let you know what our plans are for graduation.

Our foremost plan is to conduct the ceremony on the football field as usual. If we have any additional rain tonight and during the day on Thursday, we may be unable to utilize the entire grassy area in front of the school for parking. If that is the case, wet areas will be roped off. When the school parking lots are full, guests will have to park along Highway 64. With that thought in mind, it is highly recommended that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins.

This morning we met with the senior class to discuss where to hold the ceremony if it is raining on Thursday night. They were given the option to graduate in the AHS gym or to graduate at the Ag Event Center in Selmer. Knowing that attendance could be limited due to space at AHS, the senior class, by a wide margin, voted to hold their graduation at the Ag Center. The center is located at 851 High School Road in Selmer. While the seniors certainly prefer to conduct the graduation ceremony at AHS, they felt it was more important for all family members and friends to be present to celebrate with them. The Ag Center can accommodate over 3,000 audience members and will not require us to issue a limited number of tickets to each graduate. In the event of rain, the parking situation of the Ag Event Center is far superior to the parking options on campus.

Please understand that a final decision will not be made until midday Thursday. The decision will be based first and foremost on the safety and well-being of our students. Secondly, our goal is to enable as many guests as possible to attend the event. We realize that not everyone will be happy with whatever decision is made, but we ask everyone to remember that the “where and how” are not as important as the “who and why”. What is important is celebrating this momentous occasion in the lives of our seniors. As this is being written, the weather forecast looks favorable for an outdoor graduation at AHS. However, we wanted everyone to know what we will do in the event things change.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

It is time to enroll your student for the 2026-27 school year. This is a requirement that must be completed online each school year. To complete enrollment, log into your ParentVue account and click on the “Online Registration” button at the top of the screen. Enter and verify the information for each of your students in grades 9-12. Students who are new to McNairy County and planning to attend AHS in the Fall may complete the online registration process; however, it must be followed by an in-person meeting on a new student enrollment date that will be set and published at a later time.

This is important information that is JUST FOR JUNIORS WHO TESTED IN MARCH AT AHS!

This is an official message from ACT:

Based on its continual evaluation of scores, ACT has informed us that it needs to reissue scores for students who took the ACT online during the school day this spring. If you are among those students, your current score will be removed from your MyACT account on Wednesday, May 13. When scores are available again (no later than June 2), your Composite score and section scores will remain the same OR go up slightly based on your individual performance. Your scores will NOT be lower than what was previously released. There is no action you need to take. ACT will post revised scores on MyACT and will be resending scores to your school. If you previously opted to send scores via ACT to a college, university, or scholarship-awarding organization, they, too, will be sent any updated scores.
