Around seven years ago, Cheshire Elementary School and CT Plunkett Elementary School joined together to become Hoosac Valley Elementary School. In the time since then, HVES has transformed into a school community that encompasses two beautiful towns and that is full of joy.
At HVES, we share the importance of identity and belonging in every classroom as part of our Responsive Classroom approach. Every student is called by their name and everyone is a part of our community. With that being said, we felt it was very important for our school’s exterior to match our school’s interior. There hasn’t been a sign of the school’s name on the outside of the building. This morning, all of that changed!
This morning, the entire school went to the front lawn to welcome Hoosac Valley Elementary School’s first ever sign! This was a special moment for our whole community because it recognized our school’s identity; it recognized where we all spend our time together every day; it gave us a name.
Thank you to each one of you and to each of our students for making Hoosac Valley Elementary School the best school in the entire state! Our school community is unlike any other and I am proud to be a part of it. Please give us a little beep if you drive by the new sign!
