Some of our third graders fall foxes!
First graders are ânutsâ about acorns!! We got to paint and mix colors to create our leaves, talked about different kinds of lines on the parts of the acorn, and thought about expressions while making a face. Finally, everyone got to bring home a ârealâ acorn!!
Thank you Mrs. Moore for taking our cassette tape quilt to the theater!! Keep your eyes open for more art displayed there.

We read the book Iâm Not Just a Scribble and talked about how to be a good friend and play together. Then we made scribble friends.
We spent the first Art time talking about WHY we come to art class. One of the reasons is practice working collaboratively. Our week one collaboration is on the wall! It is very difficult to get a good picture because it is so big, so there is a video in the comments.
Check out the Adams County Fair for the art display from AFE. Maybe youâll know someone who has art there!
In addition, there will be a collaborative art piece that families can work on together! It will then be displayed in the cafeteria!
As I start thinking about the new school year, there are lots of things that I'd love to have for the students, but don't necessarilly have the funds for. Some of my 4th grade besties and my K-4 Art Citizens of the year! Art citizenship is overall art room behavior, respect and helpfulness. Love these kids!!

Some finished clay pieces! 1st grade chicken pockets, Kindergarten dripping paintbrushes and 4K donuts.
The clay craziness begins!! 4K made donuts and 5K made paintbrushes. We still need to add more to those!!

YAM Salvador DalĂ Mustache Day! Students enjoyed creating their masterpieces with their impressive facial hair. I feel like it inspired creativity!
YAM Self Portrait Day! Today students looked at self portraits in many different styles, including my personal favorite by Norman Rockwell- Triple Self Portrait. We then created a portrait of ourselves as the artist at our easel.
She took a healthy lead early on and never let it go. Iris Scott, finger painter, wins the first ever ARTditarod!! Videos about Iris will be in the comments.
YAM Art With Administrators Day!! We were joined by Dr. Wermuth, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Miner throughout the day. We created beautiful flower gardens with 2 different painting techniques. Everyone had a great time!
YAM Still Life Day!! These still life drawings are created by students in grades K, 2 and 3.
