Friends of the Binunsaran Library

Hello Friends of the Binunsaran Library! We have raised $200 in the last few weeks. Thank you so much! We will be taking donations through December 31, 2025. English literacy gives kids a chance to go to college and also get better jobs either here or overseas. Every day kids come to sit and read or take books home. The best part is they can keep them or share them. Each year we ship hundreds of books. This years tally was over one thousand. This library was established in 2018. On Cyber Monday, my thoughts move to Giving Tuesday. The Friends of the Binunsaran Library is a 501-3c registered in Massachusetts. Here are some of the things we have been up to this year! We shipped over 1000 books(8 balikbayan boxes) to the library for preshool to young adult readers including an updated world atlas and reference books. We also distributed disctionaries to the third graders of 13 schools. In the last 3 years we have given over 1000 children their very own dictionary. Monday morning was made special by a bag of borrowed books and this sweet note! Hopefully they kept any books they truly loved as we don't work like a normal Library📚❤️📖❤️

Yesterday was our 2024 Dictionary Distribution Day! We distributed 371 Dictionaries to 12 public schools here in Camiguin. We were accompanied by Sir Arnel Maestrado and driven by Sir Christopher Anino from the Camiguin Department of Education. Last year we distributed dictionaries to 9 schools grade 3-6. This year we distributed dictionaries to the original 9 schools 3rd graders and then to the 3 new schools grades 3-6. We also gave a copy to each classroom to facilitate assignments and english vocabulary learning. We met many new heads and principals as well as lots of teachers and students! The word of the day is GRATITUDE! That is how the Friends of the Binunsaran Library feel today! ❤📚❤📚❤

Our new books are in and the kids on the way back from school could feel the new stock vibes and rushed the library! Love seeing a full house and happy kids!

This year's books and dictionaries have just departed from Taiwan Port; next stop Manila, then CDO and finally Camiguin. This picture is our latest finds due to be shipped with even more books and Dictionaries in June of 2025! The sourcing and stocking of The Binunsaran Little Free Library is a year round project.
