Team 3179 The ANT

We spent the day today at the MidAmerica STEM Expo. Our team spent time with 5th grade students from around the county talking about the fun of applying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as we build our robots. It was also a great time demonstrating our robot with the Mayes County First Robotics team and their robot.

Meet our team member, Parker Shrader. He is a rare two year team member as just a freshmen. He participated in FLL for three years before joining the FRC team. We appreciate his passion he has for all things robotics. He is dedicated to the team and keeps the team inspired to not give up no matter what we are facing. He has spent the last two years as part of the build team and has become very popular at the regional competitions. Thank you Parker for being an asset to the team.

Meet one of our rookie team members, Charley Thach. He came to us with no FIRST experience, but loves coding. He has spent the year learning to code using JAVA and will lead the team programming next year. We are thankful he found our team and took the leap to join us.

Meet another of our amazing female team members. Alexis Webb is a 3 year team member and started her robotics career as an 8th grade FLL team member. She started her robotics journey working with the media and graphics team, but has since moved to join the build team and was the technician for the drive team this year. Alexis shared that robotics has taught her "that whenever you have an idea to just say it. I learned how to put things together that I never thought could go together, and that I’m strong enough to break a drill bit."

Finished the qualification matches ranked 16 out of 46 teams. During alliance selections we were the first pick of 4005 Ft Gibson Hostile Gato Robotics. The second pick for our alliance is team 6353 Team EFZ from Shanghai China.
