The McNair Scholars Program is designed to prepare undergraduate students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. McNair participants are either first-generation college students with financial need, or members of a group that is traditionally underrepresented in graduate education and have demonstrated strong academic potential. McNair Interns develop original research under faculty mentorship, contributing to their field of study. Followed by presentation of research at conferences across the nation.
Five outstanding McNair Scholars from East Central University (ECU) represented the university at the 2025 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). In addition to presenting their original research, the students took part in a variety of academic, cultural, and networking events designed to enhance their professional development.
McNair Scholars Program hosts an annual Poster Display. The campus is invited to review the posters and hear our scholars share their research. Also network with those looking to seek advanced degrees. Pictures below 2024 Poster Display.
