Ohio Northern University is committed to campus safety and is launching a new email and text system called ONU Alert and a new app called Rave Guardian. This enhanced safety technology will replace the current Nixle Alerts system. ONU Alert is for receiving weather and emergency communications. Rave Guardian turns any smartphone into a personal safety device. ONU Alert has already uploaded existing ONU student and employee email addresses and available mobile numbers into the system so there’s no need to sign up. Download the free Rave Guardian App from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Then access your account using your ONU Username and Password to set up your guardians. Students can check their email for additional details.

Congratulations to the 35 students who were selected to receive prizes as part of our ONU Vaccination Drawing. Winners are being notified by email with instructions on how to pick up their items. The University appreciates the efforts of the ONU community who have rolled up their sleeves – 71% of students are now vaccinated. ONU is strongly encouraging all students, faculty and staff to get fully vaccinated to help protect our campus community from COVID.

We look forward to seeing you on campus shortly and would like to remind you to consult the Fall 2021 Safety Plan prior to arriving. There is an important section on pre-arrival testing. Ohio Northern continues to monitor COVID-19 and the Delta variant and will communicate if there are any updates to our safety plan.

As an ONU parent or family member, we know you are working through different calendars and deadlines trying to juggle all of the dates and information. For this year, we have compiled a list of all the academic, financial, and campus dates and information into one calendar. The calendar also provides tips and information for you as a parent or family member. The 12-month calendar will run from July 2020 through June 2021. The calendar is $10.50 which includes taxes and shipping fees. It will ship directly to you in July. The deadline to purchase a calendar is June 5, 2020. Click below to place your order.

Join us at 1 p.m. to celebrate the ONU class of 2020!

Join us Sunday, May 10 at 1 p.m. for a Virtual Degree Conferral Ceremony right here on Facebook. Hear from ONU President Dan DiBiasio, Provost Maria Cronley and the deans of the five colleges, and witness ONU’s graduating class of 2020 have their degrees conferred.

If you know someone who would like to watch but they do not have a Facebook account, the ceremony can also be viewed on our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/onupolarbears.

Please help ONU recognize the Class of 2020 during the Virtual Degree Conferral Ceremony on Sunday, May 10 – also Mother’s Day – at 1 p.m. (EST) on ONU’s Facebook Channel or ONU’s YouTube Channel. This celebration will include music, brief messages from President DiBiasio and the college deans, the conferral of the academic degrees, and will conclude with photos of members of the Class of 2020 and our beautiful campus.

ONU will resume in-person, residential education this fall in alignment with state government required safety measures and consistent with CDC guidelines. The health and safety of students, faculty and staff are paramount as Ohio Northern engages several work groups to develop a comprehensive safety program with policies and practices to benefit all who live, work and learn on campus.
