The Pledge of the Computing Professional is an organization that runs a rite-of-passage ceremony for graduates of computing-related degree programs.
The use of computers is pervasive throughout our society, having expanded into most areas of everyday life. Given the ever-increasing reliance placed upon computer-based and augmented technologies, graduates from computing-related programs need to be more aware than ever of their responsibility toward ensuring that the public is both well-served and protected in the application of these technologi

The college held its Induction to the Profession Ceremony on Thursday, May 5 to recognize its graduating students and induct them into the Order of the Engineer and the Order of the Computing Profession. The Orders include a commitment to uphold the standards and the dignity of the engineering and computing professions. The event fosters a spirit of pride and responsibility in the new graduates.

On April 23rd, Ohio Northern University held its eighth Pledge Ceremony. This ceremony is held in conjunction with the Ring Ceremony of the Order of the Engineer. Seen in this photo taken in the ONU Chapel is the Pledge poster, the lapel pins in their boxes ready for presentation, and the original ceremonial Ring of the Order of the Engineer.
