Today is Morgan Lyndsey Rhoads birthday! I hope she reads this and knows how much her family loves her! She is such a caring, giving, selfless, loving, smart, kind, talented, trustworthy and beyond beautiful person, who could not love her? If you know her you love her. I hope that everyone had a great time at the reunion. It is always good to see old and new friends.

On a sad note, I was notified today that we lost a classmate. Rogena "Gena" Satterfield Leith died on May 11, 2017. Here is a copy of the obit from the Ely Times in Ely, Nevada.

Rogena “Gena” Satterfield Leith passed away May 11th, 2017 peacefully in her home with her loving husband by her side after a long battle with cancer.

Gena was born May 16th, 1952 in Ada Oklahoma to Roland and Geneva Satterfield. She grew up and attended school in Ada.

Gena married Steven Leith May 27th 1978 in San Diego, California. Steve and Gena later moved to Ely, Nevada where she was a long time resident for 20 plus years.

She was preceded in death by both her parents. Gena was survived by her beloved husband Steven Leith of 40 years, son Cade (Emily Matson-Leith) of Elko Nevada, grandson Caleb and sister Phyllis Satterfield of Ada Oklahoma.

Per Rogena’s wishes the family will not be holding any kind of services.

Dear '70 Cougars,

After two postponements and a worldwide pandemic, finally, it is almost time to celebrate our 50th Ada High School reunion!

We are happy to be having a good turnout with approximately 80 registrations, including some spouses.

The time is from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m on Saturday, August 7 at Sheep Creek. We thank Celeste (Cason) Barringer for making arrangements for us to have our reunion there at no charge to our class.

We will have a picnic-style meal in the Pavilion at Sheep Creek. Food will be brought from Subway and chips and dip will also be provided by some of our committee members. There will be iced tea and water for drinks. If you want to bring your own beverages, please remember, only cans or plastic containers. NO GLASS containers at Sheep Creek.

There is a swimming pool for those wanting to cool off in the water. Please remember to bring your own towel if you plan on using the pool.

Seating is provided in the Pavilion where we will be eating, but if you want to bring your own lawn chairs they are very welcome. There are a limited number of chairs around the pool area.

Sheep Creek has many shade trees, and there will be canopies set up for shade also.

This will be a great time for visiting and catching up. We will also have a photo booth for chances to take pics with your classmates so bring your phone and/or camera.

There will be information on our class scholarship and an opportunity to make a donation if you would like.

In case of inclement weather, the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Ada (14th and Broadway) will be our backup location.

We want to give a big thanks to Ron Mitchell for being the administrator of our page "Ada High School Class of 1970" and for all he has done on this!

Greetings! We are finally getting to have our 50th high school reunion (one year later). The date is Saturday, August 7th, 2021, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Celeste has offered Sheep Creek at no charge to our class. Thank you Celeste! Directions to Sheep Creek will come in a later email.
