The Polar Bears walk away from the outdoor season with 19 USTFCCA Great Lakes Regional honors! 17 bears earned all-region honors by placing in the top eight regionally in their events at the end of the season. Avery Baker-Schlendering was named Great Lakes Field athlete of the year for going undefeated in the high jump for the last seven meets of the season, culminating in a national title.
Edit: We swapped Katie Floyd and Sam Roth for all-region honors. Katie Floyd earned all-region honors in javelin this past outdoor season!

It was a successful week for the Polar Bears at the 2026 NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships. Four bears earned All-American honors with two school records broken along the way!
Sophomore Avery Baker-Schlendering- National Champion in Women's High Jump
Junior CJ Boothby- 7th place in Men's Javelin
Senior Claire Schweller- 8th place in Women's Pole Vault
Junior Katelyn Wagner- 9th place in Women's Shot Put

ICYMI:
On Friday afternoon Sophomore Avery Baker-Schlendering took home the national title in women’s high jump clearing 1.79m! This mark is the third highest bar cleared at a national championships for division three and is the number six all-time jump in division three history!

After four trips to the national meet in four different events CJ Boothby finally has his All-American trophy! On his third throw of the prelims CJ launched the Javelin to a new school record of 64.57m to secure seventh place in the country. What a great way to wrap up the season, congratulations CJ!!

Finishing off her career as an All-American! Senior Claire Schweller finished 8th in a tough women’s pole vault competition to kick off the 2026 outdoor national championships for the Polar Bears. This is Schweller’s sixth trip to the national meet and second first team All-American honor. Congratulations, Claire!

The Polar Bears have arrived in Wisconsin for the 2026 NCAA D3 Outdoor National Championships!

National qualifiers.
Four Polar Bears will head to Wisconsin to represent Ohio Northern at this year's outdoor NCAA division three championships! These bears are among the top 22 athletes in their events across the country. Competition begins on Thursday and will run through Saturday. Our qualifiers and their competition times (central time) are:
Claire Schweller, Pole Vault- Thursday Noon
Katelyn Wagner, Shot Put- Friday 1pm
Avery Baker-Schlendering, High Jump- Friday 2pm
CJ Boothby, Javelin- Saturday 11am

Our latest additions to the outdoor all-time top 10 lists after conference weekend and this past weekend! The Polar Bears had some big results over the last couple of weeks and look to keep the momentum rolling into the final two weeks of the season.

The regular season may have wrapped up, but the Polar Bears are still rolling! Junior CJ Boothby kicked off the post season with a school record in the javelin. The previous record, set by Dan Arkin, was thrown in 2015. This throw moves him into the top 20 in division three this year!
