The heroes have been hard at work studying probability, designing, testing, adjusting and creating awesome hands-on games as well as some online games for you to play! Join us as we take on the challenge of seeing if we can win against the games they’ve made!

Sure, there’s a time and place for quiet focus but do learners have to be strapped to a desk and ordered to remain silent for long periods of time to pull it off? Our learners prove time and time again the answer is absolutely not! Our Spark studio does not have desks and while our ES studio does have optional desks, they’re rarely used compared to collaborative or comfy spaces, they’re never assigned but rather chosen, and here’s why:
✨Every learner learns differently. Some actually do like their own space to get into flow so they have a desk option. Some prefer the floor, the couch, under a table or cabinet, cozied up with floor pillows and even outside.
✨Learners are meant to MOVE and should be encouraged to listen to their bodies and be able to move in ways that help them focus rather than being strapped to a desk and ordered to hold still and remain silent.
✨The freedom to choose gives them autonomy and increases learning engagement.
✨Collaborative spaces encourage teamwork and hero-to-hero support and mentoring.
✨When they’re comfortable they get into flow and learning retention increases.

Breaking free from the chains of a desk is key to any learner-driven environment and we’re here for it 👏 We’re even noticing over time our ES heroes spend less and less time at their optional desks. Perhaps we’ll see them make a decision on their studio space and furniture as a result. Stay tuned!

🎲Probability Day🎲 Heroes got the chance to be guests for Probaility Day, playing guide and parent led games, testing what they’ve learned about probability. All that they’ve absorbed will help them as they move forward in designing their own game! Will they be luck based, skill based or strategy based?
