π Buckle Up! It's Time! Fair Time!
Now is the time to be working on 4-H exhibits for the county fair! Hopefully you already have some completed from other 4-H events and activities for 2024-25. The Fair is the end of the 4-H year. A time to showcase what you have learned this past year. Most people get that confused since school is starting and the Fair is in August. Enter your grade/age category for grade/age you were August 1, 2024. Don't jump ahead before it's time. Five entries will get you a Fair T-Shirt! Can I enter if I will be new to 4-H in 2025-26? You sure can! Just get enrolled in 4-H starting August 1 and let's get started.
The online entry opens July 14-August 8. All entries must be done online during this time. No online entries will be done on exhibit entry days. Please reach out if you need assistance. https://pontotocfairada.fairentry.com/Fair/SignIn/21991
You can find all the 4-H Sections 300-325 classes at this link. This is the state fair book so no premiums listed there apply to the county fair, just the classes and guidelines only.

π Recruiting a 4-H club leader involves finding someone passionate about youth development, leadership, and hands-on learning. 4-H can touch the lives of youth and families in every community in the county. The local clubs are most important to 4-H members as they provide a home base and propel them to seek out additional 4-H opportunities guided by dedicated adult 4-H volunteers. 4-H doesnβt happen without volunteers. 4-H club leaders work alongside 4-H families. It takes everyone to have a successful program, not just one person doing the work.
Please contact Becky Walker, 4-H Youth Development Educator, at the OSU Extension Office to talk about these important volunteer positions. 4-H requires a background check, volunteer orientation and continuing education.
OSU Extension and 4-H Youth Development programs are committed to helping 4-H volunteers be successful as they guide the local 4-H programs. Ideally we need volunteers in place when the school year and 2025-26 4-H year starts August 1.

π 4-H Day Camp #2 Entertaining With Food!
OSU Intern Alysa led the group in making butter and then flavoring it with their choices of Strawberry Jam, Everything Bagel Seasoning, Cinnamon Sugar and Garlic & Herbs. Who knew OSU has a student organization for butter churning. We made a Ladybug Light used as a table decoration and made Strawberry Slushy, Ham & Cheese Pinwheels and Strawberry, Marshmallow, Brownie desserts on a stick.
