Along with our amazing professors, we also have wonderful faculty and staff who help the psych department run smoothly.
Lori Kindle is just one of the people who works alongside faculty to make sure students get the best education they can! Not only does Lori enjoy working with faculty, she also enjoys the time she gets to spend with students.
“I enjoy interacting with students and getting to know them as people and what their goals are in college and in their future” -Lori
Lori has worked at ONU for almost 15 years and we are so thankful for her!

Meet Dr. Kristie Payment!
Dr. Payment has been a professor at ONU for 16 years and is also the Assistant Director of the School of Health and Behavioral Sciences. Her favorite thing is seeing people discover that not only is psych fun, but what students learn also applies to their everyday lives! Dr. Payment is currently working on creating intervention to help freshmen transition into college with note-taking and study techniques to be more successful. She has also partnered with Dr. Zoladz to research the impacts of stress on the formation of false memories!

Students in Dr. Payment’s cognitive psychology class worked together to create studies that tested immediate memory- specifically the phonological loop and Visuo-spatial sketchpad!

Meet Micayla Boyer, she is a senior psychology student in Dr. Stokes’ research lab! As a student you have the opportunity to work along side professors in research.
“Being in Dr. Stokes multicultural lab has been on of the best experiences I have had at ONU. It has provided me research experience that most undergraduate students don’t receive. My lab team has also been my biggest supporters here and have shown me that I can be confident in myself and in my work.”
