You’re a high-achiever. You’re used to making things happen, solving problems, and carrying the load in your career and your life.
But when you bring that same “fix-it” energy into dating? You’re actually blunting his ability to fall for you.
I recently coached a woman who froze on every date. She was so worried about what to say, how to keep him interested, and how to fill the silence. She thought it was her job to make him feel good because she liked him.
I told her: Next time you go blank, don’t fill the silence. Just look at him, pause, then smile.
It felt awful to her at first. It felt like doing nothing.
But the second she stopped performing, he began to lean in. He got a little nervous. He started working to pull her back in. He started to feel something.
And that is the whole point.
When you do less, you leave a gap. And a man can reach toward a gap.
Every time a man reaches toward you—every call, every plan, every text, every dollar he spends—he’s investing. That’s him falling. And he has to do it again and again for it to stick.
When you meet him halfway, or when you carry the whole conversation, you take that opportunity away from him. Doing nothing isn’t you actually doing nothing. It’s you finally letting him fill in the gap and pursue you.
Stop carrying the date. Stop over-functioning. Lean back, leave the gap, and watch what happens.
Want to know more about the psychology of attraction? I put together a free report on what actually makes a man reach toward you and how to have him fall in love. It’s called What Men Find Irresistible.
