Today we celebrated Mrs. Broadnax in true Mustang style!

Her birthday was filled with surprises from start to finish! Her office and hallways got a little birthday makeover, students enjoyed mini donuts, and Mrs. Broadnax traveled from grade level to grade level for a fun treasure hunt filled with mini challenges and riddles.

One of the sweetest surprises was a visit from a former student who came back to help celebrate her special day.

And because no birthday celebration is complete without a little fun, we ended the day in the gym learning some NEW dance moves!

Our Kindergarten students explored the early literacy skills of singing, playing, talking, and reading through an engaging experience led by talented teaching artists. This program is the perfect introduction to the world of opera, combining music, storytelling, and literacy in a fun and meaningful way! Students enjoyed a presentation of Diva Dolores and the Opera House Mouse by Rebecca Gerlings.
What a wonderful way to spark creativity, imagination, and a love of the arts in our young learners!

Monday, Ford Elementary students celebrated the 212th anniversary of the penning of our National Anthem by wearing red, white, and blue to school. Students have been learning about the history behind the song and memorizing the lyrics. This week Dr. Hurley is riding around on his scooter listening to classes sing the National Anthem during the morning news.
