🐸 Our school has been learning about the tadpole to frog life cycle this spring. These little wonders enriched not only our science experiences, but also our literacy, art, and pretend play as well! Our newly four-legged friends were returned to their pond last weekend. Thank you to the Barn family who transported them and shared them with us!

🚜 Our school recently took a field trip to goodpickinfarm in Westford, MA! The children learned about animals while practicing preschool skills like taking turns, using gentle hands, and following directions. They also got to ride on a yellow school bus, many of them for the very first time! What was the highlight for your student?

🎉 Our Barn classes recently hosted their annual end of the year Family Celebrations! To prepare for these events, students painted banners and dictated to teachers the answers to questions about their family. On the celebration days, children and their families gathered outside and the teachers read the banners aloud. The children also sang songs and enjoyed a sweet treat together.

☀️ For the past several weeks, the classes have been exploring WEATHER through songs, books, crafts, and play. They have certainly been honing their observation skills while monitoring the spring weather in fickle New England!

🌳 “Not all classrooms have four walls.”
🍃 The outdoor space at the Barn is truly an outdoor classroom. While there are plenty of opportunities for gross motor play (sliding, climbing, hula hooping, running, hippity hopping!), we also extend typical “indoor” learning experiences outdoors.
🌿 Some of our outdoor learning areas include dramatic play (including our beautiful playhouse!), art corner, sensory areas (mud kitchen/garden center, sandbox), building zone, and music area.
🌲Our nature path, designed by thymeinthegarden1 and debuted this year, is also a much beloved extension of our classroom!

💻 Tonight, 4/28, is our Annual Membership Meeting! This is required for ALL families with a child enrolled for fall 2026.
🗣️Our Annual Membership Meeting has two functions. Firstly, it is an informative event where incoming members hear from teachers and current members and learn about what to expect in the fall.
📈 It is also a business meeting dictated by our By-Laws where we elect officers for our Board and approve the operating budget.
We look forward to seeing you there!
