Meghan Zocchi Music Studio

My primary goals are to help students enjoy learning music and to inspire them to strive to be better musicians, regardless of their musical ambitions. My students have the opportunity to perform in workshops and recitals throughout the year, and to be judged in festivals and competitions if they wish. I began playing the piano at age 3 and have studied consistently since then with teachers including Tish Anne Kilgore, Josiane Lefebvre, and Alys Terrien-Queen. At McGill Conservatory in Montreal, I won the top grade for my year in both the Collegial 1 and the Collegial 2 Piano Examinations (the two highest examinations offered). I have performed at numerous events and venues including the McGill Conservatory Gala concerts, solo recitals at McGill Conservatory, in Groton, MA, and in Westford, MA, and several events at the New England Conservatory. I began teaching piano as a student-teacher in my first year of high school. I taught part-time through high school and college and made it my full-time career in 2004. In 2009, I received a Master's in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. From 2004-2011, I taught private piano lessons as well as preschool music, group piano, group musical theater classes, theater dance, and ballet at Center Stage School for the Performing Arts. When the school closed in 2011, I founded Meghan Taevs (now Zocchi) Music Studio. A few years ago, I began taking adult cello lessons through the Longy School of Music. As an adult musician, I have progressed quickly and would now be happy to teach beginning through late intermediate cello students in addition to piano.
