​This week was all about the cycle of our stuff. From turning cardboard boxes into creative masterpieces to "cleaning" our water sensory bins, we dived deep into our weekly essential question: Where does the trash go?

​Our Learning Goal:

We focused on helping students show an interest in natural phenomena and become more mindful of how we care for our world—especially through the magic of recycling! ♻️

Where Does our Trash Go?

This week we are learning about the differences between trash, Recycling and compost! With lots of fun activities geared towards the different ages and scaffolded for learning across different abilities. Do you have all three bins in your home?

Our little rural preschool is out on an adventure to collect the First Signs of Spring 🌼🌱 and creative up cycled artwork!

Playground Fun!

Painting Still Life and appreciating the first signs of Spring 🌼🌱 We went for a nature walk to collect and create wildflower bouquets, then we created still life artwork with watercolor acrylic 🎨🖌️

Transportation Unit! We had a blast exploring planes, boats, trains, and more! We explored science and math concepts of speed and momentum, magnetism, and numbers over the course of a one month unit ⛵🛶✈️🚂🚗

We are the Kings and Queens of our Growth Mindset!

Next Friday we will have our classroom holiday party! The kids will have some artwork to show off and we will have a couple holiday themed activities for parents and children to do together. Please make it more festive by participating in the gift book exchange! Bring a new or used book wrapped up like a present, and to make it more personal, have the children write something on the first page. All of our families are welcome to join, even if you are typically not with us on a Friday. Thank you, see you there!

Los niños tendrán sus obras de arte para mostrar y tendremos un par de actividades navideñas para que padres e hijos las disfruten juntos. ¡Anímale a celebrar participando en el intercambio de libros de regalo! Trae un libro nuevo o usado envuelto como regalo y, para hacerlo más personal, pide a los niños que escriban algo en la primera página. Thank you all for supporting our donation drive for . Because of you, we delivered an entire trunk filled with clothes, baby essentials, and much-needed toiletries.

This incredible organization, run by Kate and her family, supports some of the most vulnerable children in the AV foster care system. They provide a welcoming space where kids can choose items that are theirs—helping them feel loved, valued, and remembered. Many children enter foster care with little to nothing; this store offers comfort, dignity, and even a few things they’ve always dreamed of during a very difficult time.

Thanksgiving has a complicated history, but one thing remains true: kindness is always the right answer.
