Wheelhouse Creative Education Center Educational organization providing innovative programming to Greene County on a sliding scale. That they should be valued and listened to.

Our work is to build a place that supports family in all its forms, and where children feel challenged, capable and irreplaceable. Our days consist of learning through open-ended play and functional tasks such as cooking, building and gardening alongside attentive, caring adults. There is time and space for more focused projects led by the children’s interest and curiosity, and plenty of time for exploring the beautiful land around us. We believe that a child is never too young to be an important member of a community. That they should be tasked with work that matters. Our program for children ages 3-6 opened in the fall of 2015. Last year, we launched outdoor only programming with our Forest School, in response to the pandemic. This year, we launched our Community School in Cairo, which accepts children ages 2-11!

What do you think? What do you need? What do you have to offer? How might we care for the caregivers?
