ACPS Announces Growth: VDOE School Performance and Support Framework Scores
ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. — The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has released the 2025–2026 School Performance and Support Framework Scores, providing a comprehensive look at school performance and student achievement across the Commonwealth. Accomack County Public Schools (ACPS) is proud to report that every school in the division improved its Framework Score from the previous school year.
The VDOE School Performance and Support Framework uses multiple indicators of school quality and student achievement, including student mastery, growth in reading and mathematics, readiness, and high school graduation rates. The Framework Scores provide a baseline for understanding school performance and identifying areas where additional support and resources can help students and staff continue to grow.
This summer, the VDOE updated its Performance Categories, transitioning from Distinguished, On Track, Off Track, and Needing Intensive Support to Distinguished, Meets Expectations, Approaching Expectations, and Needs Intensive Support. Below are the Framework Scores and Performance Categories for Accomack County Public Schools. All schools showed growth in their Framework Score, and two schools moved into the Distinguished Category.
“We are proud of the progress reflected in these Framework Scores and, most importantly, of the work happening every day in our classrooms,” said Dr. Miller, Superintendent of Accomack County Public Schools. “The improvement across every school demonstrates the dedication of our students, teachers, support staff, school leaders, and families to our students' academic achievement. While we celebrate these gains, we also recognize that the data provides us with valuable information about where we can continue to grow and how we can best support our schools. From here, we will continue raising the standard across every school community.”
Tangier Combined School was not assigned a Framework Score because its enrollment was too small to meet the scoring requirements.
The 2025–2026 results provide ACPS with an opportunity to celebrate progress while continuing to focus on student achievement, instructional growth, and the individual needs of each school community.
