Congratulations to Saniya, Lillian and Aliyah from Accokeek Academy on their performance focused on the debates between Edward Miner Gallaudet (of Gallaudet University) and Alexander Graham Bell over Deaf educational methoods. Lillian writes: "This was a fun project to do with my friends. I'm glad we tried something new and got to stretch ourselves. Our first highlighted students are Aspen and Wardan from Accokeek Academy in Prince George's County Public Schools. Their documentary was on Ashurbanibal's Library, the ancient royal Assyrian library containing over 30,000 clay tablets. Aspen and Wardan's work won them the Excellence in Asian History award sponsored by UMBC History Department!
