The Absecon Therapy Animal Farm is officially open! 🐑🐐💞🥳

Absecon Schools Superintendent Dr. Daniel J. Dooley and Board of Education President Mr. Eric Neal cut the ceremonial red ribbon to officially open our Therapy Farm this morning, starting off a daylong professional development focused on the benefits of therapy animals and how to implement these programs in school settings.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the ribbon cutting this morning to support this amazing initiative including:

Absecon Schools took the Week of Respect pledge to go Gold and Blue this week as part of a statewide movement uniting New Jersey schools in a shared commitment to preventing harassment, intimidation, and bullying (HIB). Thank you to our students and staff who participated!

To recognize Week of Respect, throughout the week our students participated in a variety of activities that related to making our schools kind, safe and inclusive:

💛Monday - Respect yourself
Affirmations during morning announcements and posted throughout school. Eat a healthy snack to respect your body!

💙Tuesday - Respect your community
Bring in non-perishables for the Community Food Bank of NJ Donations

💛Wednesday -Respect your local heroes
Make a thank you card for APD/AFD

💙Thursday - New Jersey Shows Respect - Wear Your Blue and Gold!

Week of Respect Begins Oct. 5 across New Jersey and Absecon Schools is excited to announce that we have taken the Pledge and will go Gold & Blue on Thursday, Oct. 8.

REMINDER: Students will have EARLY DISMISSAL on Thursday, Oct. 8.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, Oct. 9 & Monday, Oct. 12.

There will be NO PM STARS on Thursday, and STARS will be closed on Friday and Monday.

📢UPDATE on Absecon Schools send-receive petition

TRENTON — Absecon Schools is not giving up in its effort to provide better educational opportunities for our children, as we continue to pursue establishing a new high school agreement with Greater Egg Harbor Regional, taking our fight to the state’s highest court.

The NJ Supreme Court heard Absecon send-receive petition earlier this month. Our district remains confident that the New Jersey Supreme Court justices will thoroughly evaluate the key arguments presented by Absecon’s legal team. With a decision expected this winter, we remain hopeful for a positive outcome that serves the best interests of Absecon's children.

Congratulations to Absecon Schools Board of Education member Mrs. Theresa Hudson!

Mrs. Hudson was recognized this week as a Master Board Member through the NJSBA Board Member Academy program during the Atlantic County SBA meeting this week in Egg Harbor Township. Additionally, Mrs. Hudson was selected by her peers as Vice President of Legislation for Atlantic County SBA.
