Chinese researchers build cell-size bots to carry drugs | ZDNet 09/17/2013

"Cell-sized Robots deliver medication where it's needed"

Micro-robots 100 microns long, about the size of a human cell, can be injected into the body and guided magnetically to deliver medication where it's needed, writes Eileen Yu. The devices, developed by researchers at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, are expected to prove particularly useful as an alternative to risky surgery in more delicate areas such as the eye and brain to treat such afflictions as retinal degeneration and stroke.
