Had an amazing time at Jewish Relief Agency packaging food. COW and Hillel worked along side people from all over the city in the fight against hunger! Thanks to the Hillel Student organization for this collaboration.

COW MLK Day Service Trip 01/21/2017

COW went on a service trip to Kingdom Living Community Development Corporation on MLK day. Students did indoor cleaning and painting helping with the process of renovating the place into a local school age program! Students also visited local police station to thank and give breakfast to the police officers.

Monday, January 18th- PSU Abington and City Year Service
WHERE: Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School in Philadelphia.
WHAT: Volunteers will be needed to assist in a variety of cleaning, beautification, and painting projects, both indoors and outdoors.
TIME: 9 AM - 2 PM.
ADDRESS: 3301 Old York Rd.
We will be meeting on this day ON CAMPUS

Tuesday, January 19th- "Mind Over Media"
12:15-1:30 Lubert Commons
A student based panel and discussion involving stigma and stereotypes displayed in the media.
Topics can include Mental health, Gender/Sex, and Race/Religion
Students will be educated on the effects media has on our perceptions of minority and stereotyped groups of people

Wednesday, January 20th- "Life Hacks for Change"
12-1 Lubert Commons
Event hosted by COW based on what Community Service ACTUALLY is including students civic duty as a student and citizen, Discussion topics will include hot topics facing the upcoming presidential election, Various ways to serve important causes, Individual and group benefits, and value of student contribution

Thursday, January 21st- "Food for thought"
12:15-1:30 Lubert Commons
Join COW in making Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the Homeless to be donated to the Sarnelli House- a shelter/soup kitchen located in Kensington

Friday, January 22nd- Student Life Organized event/speaker
