🇺🇸 Flag Day Fun at Ms. B’s Daycare! 🇺🇸
Today we celebrated Flag Day early with a simple and fun American flag activity! ❤️🤍💙
The children explored colors, practiced fine motor skills, and learned that the American flag is a symbol of our country. Activities like this help little learners build creativity, strengthen hand-eye coordination, and introduce important concepts in an age-appropriate way.
At daycare, learning happens through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences every day!
⭐ What are some of your favorite Flag Day memories or traditions?
🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
🖐️✨ Communication starts long before words! ✨🖐️
One of my favorite things to teach at daycare is helping children learn how to communicate their wants, needs, and feelings from a very young age. ❤️
In this video, you’ll see one of our daycare friends signing “all done” at lunch! 🎉 While she started with me around a year old, I introduce simple signs to even my youngest infants. 🍼👶 After bottles, meals, and throughout our daily routines, we consistently use signs and words together.
Using simple sign language helps little ones:
💬 Express their needs
😊 Reduce frustration
🧠 Support language development
❤️ Build confidence
🤝 Feel understood
It’s amazing to watch children realize they have a way to communicate before they can fully say the words themselves! Seeing those little connections happen is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. 🥰
Today it was “all done” 🙌 … tomorrow it might be “more,” “help,” or “please!” 💕
Every sign, sound, and word is a big step in a child’s communication journey, and I love being part of it! 🌟
❤️
Thankful Thursday ❤️
Today I’m feeling especially thankful for the families who trust me with their children each day. Your support, kindness, and partnership mean so much. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your child’s growth and development.

⛈️🌪️ Severe Weather Awareness 🌪️⛈️
The safety of the children in my care is always my top priority. With the possibility of severe weather in our area, I want to remind families that I maintain a written Emergency and Disaster Plan, as required by Illinois licensing standards.
In the event of severe weather, I have procedures in place to help keep children safe, including shelter locations, emergency communication plans, and preparedness measures.
Please take a moment to review your own family’s emergency contact information and ensure it is up to date should I need to contact you. If you have any questions about my severe weather procedures or would like a copy of my Emergency and Disaster Plan, please don’t hesitate to ask.
💛 Thank you for trusting me with your little ones.

🍓🍍 Family-Style Snack Time After Quiet Time 🍇🍌
After quiet time today, the children enjoyed a healthy fruit snack served family-style! Using tongs, they were able to independently choose the fruits they wanted to eat and serve themselves portions.
Family-style dining helps children develop important life skills such as:
✨ Fine motor development through using serving utensils
✨ Independence and self-confidence
✨ Decision-making and listening to their body’s hunger cues
✨ Table manners and social skills
✨ Reducing food waste by taking only what they will eat
The best part? Once they finished what was on their plate, they were welcome to have more! This encourages children to learn control while ensuring they have enough to satisfy their growing bodies.
We love creating opportunities for children to practice real-life skills while building healthy relationships with food. ❤️

Splashing into summer one smile at a time! ☀️💦
Today was all about cooling off, making memories, and having tons of fun at the splash pad! From running through the sprinklers to giggling under the water buckets, everyone had a blast.
What made today even more special was how incredibly well-behaved all of the children were. Children truly thrive on routine, and even with our special outing, we kept our day structured and predictable. Because of that, we enjoyed a fantastic day with no meltdowns, no major issues, and lots of happy smiles.
A great reminder that consistency, routine, and clear expectations help children feel secure and successful—even on exciting adventure days! 💙🌈
