Today we made bridges out of masking tape to see how many safari animals they could hold. We worked carefully to keep the animals from falling into the crocodile 🐊 swamp! We built homes for our safari animals using Magna-Tiles and explored our creativity through imaginative play. We played Safari Bingo and searched for animals during an exciting game of I Spy Safari. This afternoon, we enjoyed Art with Ms. Amy, where we painted and created our very own crocodile 🐊 puppets!

What a fun day of building, problem-solving, creativity, and safari adventures! 🦒🐘🐊🦁

We went on a safari adventure today! We used our binoculars to look for animals and let our imaginations lead the way. We spotted monkeys 🐒 swinging in the trees, elephants 🐘 in the field, giraffes 🦒 eating leaves, and a tiger 🐅 with her cub hiding behind a bush!

This afternoon, we built animal enclosures using popsicle sticks and playdough. As we rolled, squeezed, and pressed the playdough, we strengthened the small muscles in our hands and fingers—important skills that help prepare us for writing. What a wild and wonderful day of learning and play!

Today the children were so excited to see our new Safari-themed daycare room! We went on a safari adventure searching for elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and snakes. The children used their binoculars and put on their safari hats as they explored and discovered the animals. We worked together to build a zoo using Magnatiles and wooden blocks, encouraging creativity and teamwork. We also enjoyed the beautiful weather with a trip to the playground for lots of outdoor fun! 🦒🐘🐒🐍☀️

One of the most important things a child can learn is how to manage big feelings.

Children are not born knowing how to cope with frustration, disappointment, anger, anxiety or overwhelm. They learn these skills through their relationships, experiences and the support they receive from the adults around them.

When children struggle with emotional regulation, it can affect friendships, behaviour, learning, family life and mental health. When they develop these skills, they are better able to cope with challenges, solve problems, build healthy relationships and recover from setbacks.

Many behaviours that adults find difficult are often signs of a child struggling with emotions they do not yet know how to manage.

Every child deserves adults who look beyond the behaviour and help them understand what they are feeling and what they need.

If more people understood emotional regulation, more children would feel understood instead of judged.

Please share to help raise awareness.

Today we built towers using bricks and “cement” (shaving cream)! We worked together to create a big building and explored how the shaving cream helped hold our bricks together. We used our fine motor skills to squeeze water onto the bricks and clean them off. We also enjoyed some bubbly fun outside! ☀️🫧🏗️
