The Y is a charitable organization in Central Maryland dedicated to developing the full potential of every individual through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Our Vision
The Y will build a more connected Central Maryland community in which Y membership creates a sense of engagement, empathy, health, and well-being for all. This greater sense of belonging and connection will impact people and families more deeply across all of the Y’s points of access. Our Focus
At the Y, we are committed to providing family-oriented, affordable, high quality programs that focus on building healthy and connected communities through Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. People from all walks of life are embraced and financial assistance is provided to actively engage the entirety of the community.

Across our country, too many boys and young men are struggling with loneliness, mental health challenges, and a lack of meaningful connection. Su***de rates among young men have increased by one-third over the past 15 years and one in seven young men reports having no close friends.

While a solution isn't simple, the Y is making a significant impact, engaging 27,000 boys and young men each year. Seventeen-year-old Jason, a future student at the University of Maryland, is just one of these young men who exemplifies the power of Y programming.
