Washington County VA Master Gardeners

Ann Wassom and Susan Howard staffed the Master Gardener booth at the May 30 Abingdon Farmers Market. The subject was Easy Flowers to Grow from Seed and 80 packets of seed were distributed among 75 visitors to the table.

This morning, Master Gardener volunteers worked with community of Elder Spirit in their gardens. We always appreciate the refreshments they provide as well 🙂!

The Washington County Master Gardeners will be at the Abingdon Farmers Market tomorrow, Saturday, May 2 with the topic: Vegetable Gardening. They will have useful handouts and a giveaway for a few veggies and herbs. First come, first serve. If you have any questions for the MGs they will be happy to help! Hope to see you there!!

Even with being rescheduled due to the rain forecast, the Plant Swap at was a big success as evidenced by all the plants and garden stuff we took home! Much thanks to Jean for hosting and for everyone that changed their plans to attend. I can't wait for the Fall Plant Swap!

The Washington County Master Gardeners will be at the Earth Day event in Abingdon this Saturday, April 18. The theme for the event is Everyday is Earth Day. We have an activity for you to plant a Native Virginia Bluebell seed in a small peat pot to take home with you. We will have a handout about the care for the plant. Hope to see you there!!
