We kiicked off Week of the Young Child with a day full of rhythm, movement, and pure joy!

Our classrooms were alive with little voices singing, tiny hands tapping, and lots of dancing feet. From shaking maracas to clapping along with silly songs, every moment was packed with learning and laughter.

Music builds language, coordination, confidence, and connection. You can feel it the second you walk through the door.

It’s a national celebration that shines a light on the importance of early childhood and the teachers, families, and communities who support young children. Each day focuses on something special that helps children grow and learn through play, creativity, and connection.

We are having so much Easter fun around here!

Our sensory table turned Easter-themed is a favorite! Scooping, pouring, and exploring all those fun textures helps strengthen little hands, build focus, and support sensory development. It also helps children feel calm and organized.

Those colorful eggs and outdoor exploring? That’s hands-on discovery. Children are building coordination, curiosity, and confidence as they move, search, and collect.

Cutting and creating with spring colors helps develop hand strength and coordination needed for writing later on. Plus, it gives children a chance to be creative and proud of what they make.

Open-ended play with dough and loose parts lets imaginations bloom. Children are thinking, creating, and expressing themselves freely.

And our bunny shape activities are building early math skills like recognizing shapes, patterns, and spatial awareness, all through playful, hands-on learning.

We believe children learn best through play. That’s where the magic happens, building with blocks, pretending in the play kitchen, flipping through a favorite book. These moments are how they make sense of the world, build language, learn to problem solve, and connect with others.

We’re doing Classroom Showers at Blue Mountain Childcare to help fill each room with learning materials that turn simple moments into real growth.
