🏆🎉 Congratulations to Abingdon High School graduate Annsley Trivette on being named the 2026 "Pappy" Thompson Award winner!

Presented annually since 1982, the prestigious award recognizes a student-athlete who demonstrates excellence in athletics, academics, and community involvement.

Annsley’s accomplishments are nothing short of remarkable. A two-time VHSL Class 3 Girls Basketball State Player of the Year, she helped lead the Falcons to the first girls' basketball state championship in program history and finished her career as Abingdon’s all-time leading scorer. She also played a key role in helping the Falcons capture a VHSL volleyball state championship, earned state titles in shot put and discus, and has been one of the region’s top soccer players.

This fall, Annsley will continue her academic and athletic career at North Carolina State University, where she will play basketball in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

AHS Track Families,

The Region 3D Track Meet will be held at Christiansburg High School on Thursday, May 28.

Please note: Christiansburg High School is a CASH ONLY venue.

Admission: $10 cash only
Concessions: Cash only

Please plan accordingly, as credit/debit cards and digital payments will not be accepted.

All students in grades 9 - 11 are required to leave their chromebooks at the school during summer break. If your student did not turn in a chromebook prior to the last day of school, please return it to AHS as soon as possible. Crews will begin updating devices next week. Chromebooks not turned in will be locked and reported lost/stolen on June 1. Any past due library books or textbooks can be dropped off in the office as well.

Tonight, we proudly celebrate an outstanding group of graduates as they mark the culmination of years of hard work, growth, and achievement. The Class of 2026 has demonstrated leadership, determination, school spirit, and a commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

As these students begin the next chapter of their journeys, we are excited to see the many ways they will continue to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

Dear Abingdon High School Families,

We are excited to celebrate the Class of 2026 this evening, and graduation will proceed as planned at 8:00 p.m.

Although lightning is not currently in the forecast, we want everyone to be aware of our safety procedures should weather conditions change. If lightning is seen in the area during the ceremony, all spectators will be asked to return to their vehicles, and graduates will report to the gymnasium during the waiting period. The ceremony will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to provide a safe and memorable celebration for our graduates and their families.
