What a special two days at Watauga! On Thursday and Friday, we had the absolute joy of welcoming 588 grandparents through our doors! Our hallways were filled with smiles, hugs, laughter, stories, and so many precious memories being made with our Wildcats.
There is something incredibly special about seeing our students proudly introduce their grandparents to their teachers, friends, classrooms, and school family. These moments are the ones our students will remember for years to come!
And because every special visit deserves a sweet treat, cookies were given to every grandparent both days, thanks to our amazing PTRC!🍪💙
A HUGE thank you to all of our grandparents for taking the time to visit Watauga and pour so much love into our students. We are so grateful for the generations of love and support that surround our Wildcats.
Thank you to our incredible Watauga staff for making these two days so special and welcoming our grandparents with open arms. We truly are !

Constantly amazed by the BIG hearts of our smallest Wildcats! 🐾

This week at Watauga, we had so many little Wildcats caught doing the right thing. Not because anyone asked them to, but simply because they saw a need and stepped up.

🌎 Wiping syrup off a teacher’s table
🌎 Giving a group hug to a friend who was having a rough morning
🌎 Helping serve hotdogs at Open House
🌎 Cleaning the gym floor late at night to save our custodians some time

These may seem like small acts, but they are BIG acts of kindness, compassion, and service. And honestly, we could all learn a thing or two from our smallest World Changers. 🌎
Keep doing the right thing, Wildcats. We see you. We are proud of you. And you are making Watauga a better place every single day! 🌍 🐾💙

There's a lot happening in Mrs. Farnum's Music classes at WES:

1. Students in Mrs. Persiani’s class learning to sing the song “ Rico’s Pizza Restaurant”

2. Mrs. Jones class keeping a steady beat together as they perform a cup routine to the song “El Capitan” by John Philip Sousa.

3. Mrs. Brooks class learning to sing the song “ Yoo Hoo” and using glockenspiels to accompany the song. Some students were also chosen to play a special solo on the resonator bells.

4. Mrs. Deel’s class using scarves to move with the music.

5. Students in Mrs. Persiani’s class learning how to play a singing game call “ Good King/Queen Leopold” in which the King/Queen chooses what type of voice ( whisper, speaking, singing, or shouting) the students use.

6. Students in Mrs. Stanley’s class playing the egg shakers and working on following musical directions that teach opposite words such as play and stop, fast and slow, loud and quiet.

Our 4th Grade Wildcats AND Ms. Ruble's class enjoyed Happy Ice for being our Tray Challenge winners!! 🎉🍧
76% of our 4th graders tried and liked the school lunch choices this week! 🙌
