FYI Watauga people & families:
We have a NEW afternoon car rider pattern. We also have more space on the hill to hold my cars. One car from each lane will dismiss down the hill at a time , so as you line up tomorrow, line up in alternating lanes ! We ask that you be patient the first few days. What you experience the first 4-5 days of afternoon car rider isn’t typical of a normal afternoon once everything gets going and ironed out. Our most important job is ensuring all students are loaded safely in their cars!💙

So very grateful for Highlands Fellowship and their incredible team who showed up to help get Watauga ready for the first day of school! 💛
Principals, custodians, and staff members teamed up for to knock out a lengthy to-do list. Floors have been waxed, a new office door has been cut, the Gaga Pit on the primary playground is ready for our students, and several touch-ups around the school grounds have made our school shine!
We are truly blessed by a community that invests in our students and staff. Thank you for loving on Watauga! 💙

⭐WCPS Educator Spotlight

Washington County Public Schools is proud to recognize Lillie Ruble, a first-year teacher at Watauga Elementary School in the Center-Based Classroom, for her outstanding commitment to students and her service beyond the classroom.

This summer, Ms. Ruble was selected to serve as a Special Events Lead Volunteer and Photographer for the Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, she contributed to the planning and ex*****on of major events including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the ESPN Unified Sports Challenge, and other signature experiences for thousands of athletes from across the country.

Her work with the Special Olympics USA Games reflects the same dedication she demonstrates each day at Watauga Elementary. Ms. Ruble is known for her thoughtful planning, individualized instruction, and commitment to ensuring that every student feels included, supported, and able to fully participate in classroom learning.

We are proud to celebrate educators like Ms. Ruble whose passion for service and inclusion extends far beyond the classroom and makes a lasting impact on the students and communities she serves.

Tonight we celebrated Mrs. Hurley and Mrs. Landeros as they say goodbye to Watauga and hello to retirement! Watauga has been so blessed by both ladies! We wish them the best! 🐾 💙

Attention 5th Grade Parents/Families!

Second Graders enjoyed spending time with AHS FFA members at the Food for America event last week. Students learned about local agriculture and enjoyed seeing friendly animals! 🐄🐓💙

FFA members also joined students at WES to teach a fun lesson on sunflowers, as a part of the FFA PALS program last week. 🌽
