An ACU alumna (M.Div. ’10), Dr. Walters returns with a passion for ministry leadership, spiritual formation and equipping others to participate in the kingdom of God. We are excited for the future of the D.Min. program under her leadership.

This summer, Master of Divinity student Londyn Gray is returning to Rwanda Children for her fourth summer of service. Over the past three years, she has built meaningful relationships while serving alongside teachers, supporting students, helping prepare meals and assisting with community programs.

Reflecting on her return, she shared, “There are infinite ways to participate in God’s love at Rwanda Children, and I want to participate long-term.”

His contributions to theological education have left a lasting impact on students, colleagues, the church and the kingdom of God. Please join us for a retirement reception in the lower rotunda of the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies building in his honor on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Light refreshments will be served.

We are also pleased to share that Dr. Sensing will continue his involvement with GST as a Scholar in Residence.

Looking to deepen theological conversation in your church community? Dr. Myles Werntz leads this 4-session series designed to support and enrich the theological work already happening among lay leaders.

Rather than starting from scratch, this series affirms what’s already being practiced—offering language, structure, and guidance to help congregations grow together in faith. Grounded in faith, hope, and love, participants will explore the sources and aims of theology in ways that are practical, communal, and meaningful.

Ever wonder what GST faculty do during Renewal Leave? Jeff Childers is spending the semester at the British Library researching ancient Syriac manuscripts of John Chrysostom’s New Testament commentaries. His work will contribute to a never-before-published edition and translation releasing next year, offering new insight into how early Christians interpreted and applied Scripture, especially in Syriac churches.
