Happy Birthday to Dr. Mason Lee!
For Dr. Lee, a great day might include time playing with his kids, a good run, trying his hand at cooking something new, and—of course—finding some great Tex-Mex along the way! When he has time to read something that isn’t with his kids, Dr. Lee is a fan of Graham Greene and particularly recommends The Power and the Glory. As Dean of the Graduate School of Theology, Dr. Lee brings that same love of learning, family, and community to the way he leads and invests in our students, faculty, and staff. We’re grateful for his leadership and all he brings to the GST community. Join us in wishing Dr. Lee a very happy birthday!

Dr. Jeff Childers recently traveled to Bucharest, Romania, for the World Congress of Syriac Studies and Conference on Christian Arabic Studies, joining more than 400 scholars from around the world. He presented research on the Antioch Bible, a Syriac-English bilingual Bible project with contributions from several former GST students. The gathering also gave Dr. Childers the opportunity to reconnect with GST alumnus Dr. Jacob Lollar, now a British Academy International Fellow at Durham University. Their work reflects the meaningful ways GST scholarship and relationships extend across the globe. We’re grateful for faculty and alumni who continue to shape their fields through scholarship rooted in deep purpose.

When he’s not teaching and investing in the GST community, you might find Dr. Flanders perfecting his latest loaf of sourdough. A dedicated sourdough practitioner, he grinds his own organic wheat berries and experiments with everything from rye and whole wheat to emmer, spelt, khorasan, and amaranth.

Dr. Flanders is also a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and an avid reader. His favorite English-language book is Ernest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast.

We’re grateful for Dr. Flanders and all he brings to the GST community. Join us in wishing him a very happy birthday—and hopefully a day filled with good bread, a good book and a Cubs win!

Join us for Restoration Day on Thursday, September 10th, hosted by ACU’s Center for Restoration Studies. Dr. Loretta Hunnicutt, professor of history at Pepperdine University, will explore women’s leadership and the role of gender in the history of Churches of Christ. During two lectures in Packer Forum, Brown Library, Dr. Hunnicutt will explore the history of women in the Churches of Christ. The first lecture, “Writing Women into the History of the Churches of Christ,” will take place from 3-4 p.m. The second, “Music, Missions, and Matriarchs: How Gender Shaped the Origins of the Churches of Christ,” will be held from 7-8 p.m. Both lectures will be recorded and posted to the Restoration Day website. Please join us in welcoming Wyatt Sharp as the new Chaplain for ACU’s Graduate School of Theology!

Wyatt’s journey to ministry has been shaped by a deep desire to care for others. After initially pursuing a career in medicine and serving as a pharmacy coordinator during the COVID-19 pandemic, Wyatt began to sense God’s call to care for people not only physically but also spiritually.

That calling brought him to ACU, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Christian Ministry and Missions in December 2025, and he’s now pursuing his Master of Arts in Christian Ministry through the GST. Wyatt is excited to join the GST community as a student and the GST Chaplain, walking alongside our students, faculty, and staff and helping cultivate a community of care, connection and spiritual formation.

Today we’re celebrating Tiffany Wildman! Tiffany does so much to support all the faculty and students of The Graduate School of Theology! She does an excellent joy creating a welcoming and thriving environment for the entire GST community. Her favorite Bible verse is, Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.”

When she’s not serving the GST community, Tiffany loves putting her creativity to work and hunting for vintage treasures, whether she’s creating something special herself or discovering a one-of-a-kind find.

Tiffany, we are thankful for the many ways you support and encourage those around you. We’re grateful for you and all you bring to the Graduate School of Theology!
