Meet Lauren Boyles, COBA's new Director of Professional Development.
Lauren is no stranger to ACU. She's been on campus since 2016, spending her first five years in Student Life with the Career Center and SOAR programs before moving into Career Development, where she's served as a career advisor for the past five years. Along the way, she also spent a few years as a closing coordinator for her family's real estate business. She holds a BS in Child & Family Development from the University of Georgia and an MA in School Counseling from Eastern University, and she's a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and a Certified Professional Resume Writer.
When asked what drew her to working in COBA, she said, "The students, faculty, and staff are ambitious, kind, and committed to using their talents to serve God. I am drawn to COBA's commitment to excellence and desire to be good stewards of our talents and resources."
That commitment is inseparable from her faith. "I think that faith and work are interconnected," she says. "My faith inspires me to be of service to others, and I truly enjoy helping others learn what their unique gifts and talents are so that they can serve others as well!"
Outside the office, you might find her on the tennis court, trying out new recipes, or talking fashion, usually with her 9-year-old rescue dog, Maverick, somewhere nearby.
What does she hope she can help every student who walks through her door realize? "That they have gifts and talents, and abilities that are unique to them and that they can use to live purposefully!"
