From Lubbock to Amarillo to Midland, we spent last week reconnecting with Cowboys and Cowgirls across the Panhandle and Permian Basin. Great conversations, familiar faces, and a whole lot of Purple & Gold pride along the way. Thank you to everyone who came out to spend time with us!

From Shelton Stadium to the sideline of the Big 12 Championship β€” Tim Ismail ’19/’22 is proof of what an HSU degree can do for your career. 🀠

Tim came to HSU as a business major and Cowboy wide receiver, but a year interning with our strength and conditioning staff changed everything. When he applied to HSU's master's program in kinesiology, Dr. Lindsay Spindler didn't sugarcoat it: "Your undergrad is in business... this is going to be pretty tough." Tim's answer? "I'll find a way to get it done."

He did β€” earning his degree while working as a graduate assistant strength coach across five sports, mentored every step by Dr. Spindler and Dr. Chuck Ruot. That foundation launched him to Army West Point and now BYU, where he coaches Power Four football on college football's biggest stages.

Tim isn't alone β€” HSU's kinesiology program has sent grads on to the New Orleans Saints and beyond. It's a small program with a big network, and professors who invest in students personally.

To everyone who came out for ice cream in Longview and brunch in Tyler last weekend, thank you. πŸ™

Watching alumni, friends, and family gather over something as simple as a scoop of ice cream and breakfast was a good reminder that the Forty Acres travels with us wherever we go. Take a scroll through a few photos from our time together!

Once a Cowboy, always a Cowboy. πŸ’œπŸ’› HOOYAH!
