Due to a unforseen conflict with our transportation partner, our Angelo State Tour for 3/26 has been cancelled. We are looking to see if we can reschedule it for later in the year. We are sorry for any problems this may cause. We tried to work on a solution before cancelling, but unfortunately, it could not happen.

Wanna be a Ram? TRIO Talent Search (HS only) and TRIO Upward Bound will tour Angelo State on March 26! It will be a day trip with lunch. We hope you can make it. Space is limited! For the first time, Texas is launching its FREE College Application Week and it’s happening now, October 13–19, 2025!

That means Texas residents can apply for FREE to any Texas public college or university for undergraduate admission, NO application FEES at all!

To take advantage, just apply through ApplyTexas.org during that week.

It’s like the Common App, but made just for Texas!

You can:
- Apply to public universities, community colleges, and some private schools
- Submit essays and scholarship applications
- Track everything in one place

Before you start, grab your transcripts, test scores, and a list of activities, it’ll make things go smooth.

We’re thrilled to announce that our program has officially received its Grant Award Notification (GAN) for another year! This means we can continue walking alongside first-generation, low-income high school students as they chase their dreams of higher education.

To everyone who called, emailed, shared, or spoke up on behalf of TRIO to our congressional representatives, THANK YOU. Your voice made a difference.

But the work isn’t finished. Advocacy for the future of TRIO programs must continue, because every student deserves the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential.

While we celebrate this win, remember to stay united, and keep pushing forward together.

If you've ever seen a man juggling college tours, scholarship deadlines, ACT workshops, and Summer Academy/STEM camp planning while still remembering everyone's favorite snack, that’s probably Mr. West.

Now in his 4th year leading TRIO Upward Bound and his 2nd year guiding Talent Search, Mr. West tries to bring energy, heart, and a few dad jokes to everything he does. He’s passionate about helping students dream big, plan smart, and believe in themselves, even before they believe in their own potential.

Whether he’s helping you complete a FAFSA, navigating ApplyTexas, or convincing you that getting homework done is actually cool, Mr. West is here to make sure no student gets left behind.

Bonus fact: If there's a college within a 100-mile radius, there's a 99% chance he's already scheduled a tour for it.

Closing in on 10 years, we are proud to have Kimberly as part of our team. She does a great job keeping the programs running!
