Dr. Rod Williams and Shandus Helms rounded out their regional Texas Tech OLLI class, A Journey Into Giant Amphibian Ecology, in Abilene.

This hands-on course placed a lens on the remarkable world of giant salamanders—hellbenders in particular—from their evolutionary history and ecological roles to the water quality challenges they face today. Because the world of giant amphibians is bigger than you think.
