🪑🔨 THE 2x4 CHAIR CHALLENGE — TIME TO VOTE! 🔨🪑

Mr. Harmel’s Construction classes just completed their first project of the year — the 2x4 Chair Challenge!
The challenge was simple, but the build wasn’t: each student was given ONE 2x4x8 board and tasked with designing and building their own chair. Check out all of the finished projects, then take a look at our TOP THREE finalists — one from each of Mr. Harmel’s classes!
The finalists were selected based on:
🔨 Quality of design
📐 Cleanliness of the build
💪 Strength of the chair

Exploring Career Possibilities!

Clack Middle School students in Ms. Murphy’s Foundations of Business, Communication & Technologies class are discovering where their interests and skills could take them!

As part of Junior Achievement’s “It’s My Future” program, Junior Achievement Coordinator and TMI Advertising owner Christi Jay visited the class to lead a lesson on Career Clusters—helping students connect their interests to future education and career opportunities.

This is such a fun event. Congratulations to the winners.

Wayland Hoetger and Gentry Johnson competed in the West Texas Fair calf scramble this afternoon. Gentry caught a 7th place calf to earn $700 to go toward a livestock project for next season. This is just the start to scramble season and these two plan to take on some majors this year. Congratulations!

Bringing Manufacturing to Life in the Classroom!

A big thank you to Garrett Dussia, Abilene Coca-Cola Plant Manager, for partnering with our CTE students and teachers!

Garrett recently brought manufacturing samples from the Coca-Cola plant to Ms. Straughn’s Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) class. Students are learning about different types of manufacturing and production processes. Partnerships like this are what CTE is all about—connecting education, industry, and opportunity!
